Mythic Coaching and Bardic Arts

Full-Moon-Over-Forest

There’s a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can’t get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding.
You don’t ever let go of the thread.

About

My name is Rainer Baumorr

I'm a transformational coach, a bard, a somatic practitioner, and a perpetual student of myth, finding in each day an opportunity to encounter the mystery and open in gratitude to its abundant offerings.

Core Principles

  • We each come into this world bearing profound gifts.

  • Our fulfillment comes by aligning with our own heart and offering ourselves in service to Life.

  • By cultivating gratitude, especially in the face of our most profound struggle, we turn our challenges into vehicles for transformation.

I am a coach and mentor for those at life’s crossroads, those yearning to live a more heartfelt and soulful life, those who wish to meet this world on its own terms, yet feel a call to something deeper.

The word “coach” in our typical understanding might not entirely suit our needs. Perhaps we could use the image of a horse-drawn carriage (ya know, a coach), the idea being, you want to go somewhere, and you need a vehicle to get there.

This collaborative approach to personal development begins with understanding your story. What’s bringing you to this moment? What’s working in your life? What's "working you" in your life? What are you longing for? What patterns have been playing out on repeat that you’d like to move past?

Areas we might focus include:

  • Deeper alignment with your gifts and calling

  • Reckoning with your wounds and struggles and understanding them as the source material for the genius you’re here to bring

  • Deepening your sense of purpose and meaning in life

  • Trauma healing

  • Support through times of grief and struggle

  • Intimacy and relationships

  • Cultivation of physical, practical, ritual, and relational practices to support your whole self

These various paths all lead to the same place, to your heart and the many ways you can offer it to the world. We might set goals. We might create intentions and plans. Ultimately though, what I’m here to do is help guide you toward a song you’ve been longing to sing; a story you’ve been trying to tell; the Truth of you that’s been obscured.

Working with me includes the many resources and skills I’ve cultivated over the years, but the core of what I’m offering is a sturdy container where you can be supported in this transformation you’re undergoing.

What to expect from coaching with me:

  • Greater clarity on what's really important to you.

  • Greater alignment between your dreams and your reality.

  • Greater depth in your relationship with your self and others

  • Greater confidence in your skills to be creative and resourceful in offering your soul's gift

  • A collaborative process that weaves your best self more fully into your life.

Viewed from the perspective of salt, early traumas are moments of initiation into the sense of being a "me" with a subjective personal interior.

We tend to fixate on what was done to us and who did it: resentment, revenge. But what psychologically matters is that it was done: the blow, the blood, the betrayal. Like the ashes which are rubbed into the wounds at initiation rites to purify and scarify, the soul is marked by its trauma.

A trauma is a salt mine; it is a fixed place for reflection about the nature and value of my personal being, where memory originates and looking back into personal history begins. These traumatic events initiate in the soul a sense of its embodiment as a vulnerable experiencing subject.

It is clear that Rainer carries a lot of wisdom to help men find and listen to their inner voices, allowing embedded patriarchical beliefs to gently subside for inspiring new insights.
